Thinking about a new PC for 2025?
Now is the time to buy.
DRAM pricing is already surging. Over the last few months, RAM has moved from normal levels to
more than double what it cost recently and is tracking toward around 3× the
previous pricing. SSD pricing has now started to climb rapidly and is on track to be close to
double previous pricing. For a deeper dive into how quickly DRAM prices are rising, see this
recent analysis from

Graphics card pricing is now the next in line to increase, as manufacturers respond to the same cost
pressures and AI-driven demand. Once these changes fully flow through, complete computer systems are expected
to rise by 20% or more.
Right now, we are still working through stock purchased at older, lower pricing, but quantities are limited
and selling quickly. If you are considering a new system this side of the new year, buying now while current
pricing applies is the financially safer choice. When existing stock sells out, new systems will reflect 2026
pricing.
