Warranty & Returns Policy
Compulsion Technologies Limited, trading as "Compulsion Tech", offers a limited 3-year warranty on all new desktop computers, effective from the original date of purchase. This warranty covers hardware faults and manufacturing defects. Our obligation is to repair or repair and replace defective components free of charge within this period, subject to the terms below. We aim to make your ownership a smooth experience and we work hard to resolve all issues promptly and efficiently.
Returns Policy
- We do not offer refunds on opened or used products, including custom-built or pre-built PCs and laptops.
- New, unopened items may be returned within 14 days of purchase.
- Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility when returning an unopened product.
- A 5% restocking fee applies to cover non-refundable merchant and freight costs.
Warranty Coverage
This warranty is valid only if the following conditions are met:
- No misuse, overclocking beyond factory OC profiles, or exposure to harmful environments (e.g. moisture, dust, very poorly ventilated areas).
- Used under normal conditions, as specified by component manufacturers.
- Basic maintenance performed (e.g., dust removal every 18 months for desktops using compressed air).
- No significant modifications that compromise the system's function or reliability.
- Proof of purchase is provided so we can locate the details (order details or invoice number).
Freight & Service Process
- RMA returns for monitors, peripherals, and accessories are managed in line with the manufacturer's policy and may involve return to the NZ distributor for refund, repair, or replacement.
- For hardware problems with computer systems - in the first 12 months, if remote technical support can't resolve the issue, we will cover courier costs both ways for the PC to be returned for service.
- For minor faults (e.g., faulty RAM stick), we may courier replacement parts directly without returning the entire PC - if the customer prefers.
- Years 2–3: Customers cover freight to us, and we cover return shipping after the repair.
- If a part (e.g., GPU) is no longer available, we offer an upgrade to a higher spec replacement at our cost price difference or a standard warranty RMA process for that will have ZERO cost to you (the standard RMA can take a few weeks as sometimes a component needs to be returned to the overseas manufacturer for service).

Example 1: If you bought a computer and a few months later the graphics card unexpectedly failed. We are most likely to have the exact same or an equivalent model graphics card in stock. In such case, we will preform an immediate replacement with the brand new component to get you back up and running as quickly and efficiently as possible at no cost charged to you. We will then deal with the faulty card warranty process on our own time.
-
Example 2: If you had an RTX 3070 in one of our computers and it failed after 2 years of use, we would unlikely have any RTX 3070 stock to immediately replace it for you - as it would be the old generation. We would offer the cost price difference to upgrade to a newer generation, eg: RTX 4070 SUPER). If you opt to upgrade to a brand new replacement component, you will get a fresh 3 year warranty on that brand new component. If the customer does not want to upgrade, we will send the faulty component back to the supplier/manufacturer for free warranty repair or replacement (which duration can vary due to some components requiring international freight).
